Privacy Policy — JKLM Profile+

JKLM Profile+ ("the extension") is a browser extension that adds custom profiles, a friends system, and real-time private messaging to jklm.fun . This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and where it is stored.

1. Data collected

The extension collects and stores the following categories of data:

Presence / online status, typing indicators, read receipts	Shown to your contacts while a conversation is open
Pinned conversations, unread message counts, group cache	Local convenience data for the chat UI

The extension does not collect: real names, physical addresses, government ID numbers, health information, financial or payment information, passwords, or your general browsing history outside of jklm.fun.

2. Where data is stored

Your profile settings, friends list, blocked list, and cached chat history are stored locally in your browser using the chrome.storage.local API. This data stays on your device and is not accessible to other websites.

3. Data sent to our server

To enable real-time messaging, the extension connects to a companion server over a secure WebSocket (wss://) connection. Through this connection:

Chat messages you send are transmitted to the server so it can deliver them to the intended recipient(s).
Your online/away/DND status and typing activity are relayed to your friends while you're active.
The server necessarily processes your connection's IP address as part of normal network communication, in the same way any website or server does.

The server does not load or execute any remote code in your browser — it only relays chat data. No message content, profile data, or identifiers are sold or shared with third parties.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. Data is used only to provide the extension's features (profiles, friends, and messaging) and is not used for advertising, credit assessment, lending purposes, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's function.

5. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored data persists until you remove the extension or clear its storage via your browser's extension settings. To delete your account data from the server, contact us using the information below.

6. Third-party content

Avatars and banners you upload are stored/displayed as provided. If you use an externally hosted image URL, that image is loaded from its original host, which is subject to that host's own privacy practices.

7. Children's privacy

The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
